The sling I made in the video was sewn on my domestic sewing machine and the foam and fleece interfacing is kept out of the seam line. You can always do a test on your machine to,see if it can handle the materials. Thanks for watching!

Like so many new sewers, I find zippers challenging. I generally sew only for myself, so the zipper doesn't need to be beautifully placed; it should just be functional. From now on, I can get my zipper perfectly placed AND functional. THANK YOU. I hit subscribe, and now I am heading over to get the pattern for the pouch with the clear pocket. I got some vinyl last week that I have been itching to try. 😁💗💗

Hello Rosie, what are your thoughts on the Techsew 4800 after getting acquainted with it ? I am considering either a Sailrite Fabricator Pro or the Techsew 4800 Pro ? I plan on making manstuff and some heavy leather -- I am only wanting to purchase one or the other --- If you could only have one, - which would you choose ? Which one is the most versatile and best bang fopr the buck ? --- Thank you

SOOO happy to have found this video. I have made these for years for my (teacher) daughter's first grade class. They're used for class incentive bucks which are redeemed for rewards (ie no shoes day, sit at teacher desk, Xtra show and tell ...) any way, I had a pattern made to her dimensions but this yr couldn't remember HOW to sew together. Your tutorial was way better than the way Id made before. And thanks to the toggle info I'm going to add an extra tab to write student's names! Thank you, thank you!!! Now ... gotta get to work!!! 😉

I can't make this. I'm so careful in the measuring and pressing the bottom folds and every time it is terrible. The exterior fabric fold doesn't sit close enough to the inside fold of the lining fabric and it just bunches up. 😢 I want so bad to make this fold flat bottom but I'm going to have to stick to the boxed bottom when I want a lined bag. I just feel like a total failure right now😭 It's okay. I'm good at doing a boxed bottom. 😊

Thank you so much for your very informative video. My brother wants to buy a sewing machine to make gun holsters, but he has never sewn anything before so I was looking into what he should get. (Our mother always sewed and so do I. We are in are late 60s and early 70s.). I thought of the Sail Rite Fabricator, but I wasn’t sure if this would be the machine for him, or if he should try a Thor Cylinder machine with a flatbed. Your video has been very helpful. I also told him that these machines are expensive and he may want to pay someone else to make his holsters for him unless he has so many to make that it would be cost effective. As far as having to bend down and get under the table to turn your Sail Rite on, have you ever considered plugging it into a surge protector that has an on/off switch located on it so that you could more easily turn your machine on? I agree that having the on/off switch in that location is not the best design feature.

I love this bag the way it is but I want to make a bunch using only 2 fabrics, one for the exterior and one for the lining, with no top band. I can't figure out how to do that. Maybe it's not possible. I've made quite a few lined bags with boxed corners where you leave a turning whole in the bottom or side of the lining. The gusset though. I just don't know what to do
